Before joining the practice in 2001, Dr. Hasselman studied neuroscience at the University of Pittsburgh and graduated from medical school at Duke University.

Prior to that, he spent four years in the United States Air Force. Since joining Three Rivers Orthopedic Associates, Dr. Hasselman was commissioned in the Army Reserves and has been deployed five times. He has treated patients in Iraq, Afghanistan and Kosovo.

“I came to Three Rivers Orthopedic Associates because of the quality of the practice. UPMC St. Margaret Hospital has all the upsides of a community hospital and the latest technology, too. So, it’s the best of both worlds,” said Dr. Hasselman.

Dr. Hasselman is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and specializes in foot and ankle conditions. He has enjoyed a high rate of success in one of the latest procedures, a partial-toe replacement.

Dr. Hasselman also serves as Oakmont’s Medical Director for Disaster Preparedness and is an active member of the American Legion. He also lectures other medical professionals across the country on the latest foot and ankle technologies each month.
